The CEA Maxi 406i is the successor to ever popular Maxi 405 which has been discontinued in the EU as a result of Directive 2009/125/EC which stipulates that all Industrial MIG/MAG machines must have an absorption rate of <30W and a Power Factor of 0.92/0.99 cos, this assists greatly in reducing energy consumption which CEA and our competitors transformer based machines cannot achieve. The Maxi 406i is an Inverter Unit with infinitely variable electronic voltage adjustment. 

CEA are very cognisant of the fact that there are large quantities of the conventional Maxi 405 in use in the EU market and have taken the unprecedented step of designing the 406i in a way that all accessories are interchangeable with the older 405/505 models. This means that current CEA Maxi owners can switch Feeders, Cables etc between new & old. The Maxi 406i is equipped with the WF5 Feeder which is already used with current Maxi 405 machines.
